The Sales & Service Manager will be responsible for driving the sales and promotion of specialist water treatment and RO technology solutions across Africa, with a particular focus on the defence and humanitarian sectors. The role will identify and develop new institutional business opportunities, establish and manage regional business partnerships and oversee the full sales cycle from lead generation through to deal closure and after-sales support. A key focus will be developing strong relationships across defence and NGO institutions, providing technical and commercial expertise to customers and partners and supporting the continued growth of the business across Africa and the Middle East

Our client is a well-established Kenyan company specialising in water treatment services and solutions across East Africa. The company provides end-to-end expertise in advising, designing, building, maintaining, operating and repairing water treatment systems for its customers. As the East African distributor for a leading global water and self-sufficient solutions group, the company represents internationally recognised technologies and solutions across the region.
They are looking for a highly motivated, commercially driven and independent Sales & Service Manager to promote these solutions, identify new business opportunities and strengthen customer relationships across Kenya and the wider East African region. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong and entrepreneurial personality looking for a new challenge within a specialist and growing technical environment.
The Sales & Service Manager will assume responsibility for selling and promoting our water treatment products, as well as nutrition solutions to potential customers, managing relationships with existing clients and providing technical expertise and support to both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute sales strategies and plans for water treatment, RO technology and nutrition products in the defence and disaster-relief sectors in Africa, identifying and pursuing new institutional business opportunities to grow revenue market share.
• Identify, recruit and on-board business partners across key focus countries.
• Develop and manage the regional business partner network.
• Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closure and after-sales follow-up.
• Develop and deliver presentations and product demonstrations to prospective clients.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients and business partners.
• Coordinate activities with the supplier’s sales team in Switzerland to ensure consistency and alignment with the supplier’s overall strategy.
• Provide structured sales forecasts, pipeline reports and market intelligence to the leadership team.
• Representation at defence exhibitions, military field exercises, humanitarian events and other relevant industry events.
• Support institutional sales activities and account development in Africa and the Middle East.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the water treatment industry, institutional sales, or business development, preferably with a focus on defence and/or humanitarian sectors.
• Existing networking and experience within defence or NGO institutions.
• Strong negotiation, relationship-management and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and remotely from Nairobi, while maintaining a high level of productivity.
• Proficiency oral and written in English; Arabic, French or Swahili would be a plus.
• Availability to travel extensively within East Africa.
• Valid driver's license.
• Some technical knowledge of water treatment technology, including exposure to filtration and RO systems.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Residence/right to work in Kenya (pref. EAC national)
