The Camp Operations Manager will oversee the smooth running of the site, managing operations, staff coordination, logistics and visiting stakeholders. The role ensures high standards of organisation, safety and service while supporting researchers and partners working in a remote environment. This is a live-in leadership role based at the research centre.

This purpose-led organisation operates a remote field facility in Northern Kenya that supports program implementation, visiting stakeholders and operational teams. The site serves as both a residential base and operational hub.
Role Overview
The Camp Operations Manager is responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of a remote residential and operational facility. The role ensures high standards of operations, safety, hospitality and logistical support for internal teams and visiting stakeholders.
The position is suited to someone experienced in remote camps, eco-lodges, research stations, or off-grid hospitality operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of accommodation, facilities, kitchen, vehicles and infrastructure
- Coordinate maintenance, repairs and contractor support
- Ensure a high standard of hospitality for researchers, partners and visitors
- Supervise support staff including housekeeping, kitchen, drivers and security
- Manage operational budgets, procurement and inventory
- Support logistics for field research teams
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Facilities Management, Tourism, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience managing remote facilities, camps, or hospitality operations
- Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams
- Budget and procurement management experience
- Strong organisational, leadership and problem-solving skills
- Computer literacy and valid driver’s license
