The Financial Controller will oversee the overall financial accounting and reporting function across the business, ensuring strong controls, compliance and accurate financial reporting to support strategic decision-making. The role will lead accounting operations, strengthen internal processes, manage key stakeholder relationships including auditors and tax advisors, and drive efficiency across the finance function while leading a high-performing team.

Job Purpose:

The role is responsible for overseeing the overall financial accounting and reporting function across the group of companies. It will ensure robust systems, processes and controls are in place to support timely and accurate financial reporting, enabling sound decision making across the business. The position also requires a strong commitment to financial integrity, ensuring ethical, transparent and compliant financial practices.


Principal Accountabilities

• Manage all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, GL, Inventory and Fixed Asset Accounting, and revenue recognition.

• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting, develop and improve internal control policies and procedures as well as document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

• Manage and oversee all interactions with accounting impact with key stakeholders such as company management and directors, external auditors, Internal auditors, tax advisors and ERP system teams, etc.

• Maintain and control an accurate group and entity Level general ledger that meets all business (and stakeholder) requirements.

• Maintain an accurate balance sheet that meets the expectations of all stakeholders i.e. shareholders, directors, external auditors, tax and government authorities etc. Carry out monthly balance sheet reviews for the group and entity level companies to ensure any exposures are properly accounted for before reporting.

• Closely monitor, manage and report on the working capital status of the company to allow for decision making on existing and planned commitments.

• Ensure month end close procedures are efficient to support early reporting. Constantly review the processes in place for effectiveness and efficiency.

• Manage a competent and vibrant team of accountants to ensure that they deliver the finance functions KPI’s.

• Support the Finance Director by providing the required information and insights for all board and key stakeholder meetings.

• Any other ad-hoc duties as required.

Basic Qualifications, Job Knowledge, Skills & Experiences: -

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

• Professional qualification is preferred CPA (K) or ACCA

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Finance, at least 5 years in a similar role

• Managerial Finance

• International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail

• Ability to self-start and deliver results

• Ability to influence others

• Internal: Chief Operating Officer, Finance Director, Group CFO, Group Financial Controller, Commercial, Finance and Operations Teams.

• External: External Auditors and consultants.
