The Executive Director role oversees strategic direction, multi-country operations and organisational growth during a period of scale and system strengthening. The position leads senior teams, guides governance and financial oversight and ensures the advisory model continues to deliver practical value to farming communities. It also plays a central part in sustaining partnerships, widening funding pathways and protecting the organisation’s people-centred culture while preparing it for its next phase of regional impact.

A well-established agricultural advisory organisation, headquartered in Kenya and operating across sub-Saharan Africa is entering an exciting phase of scale, systems strengthening and regional growth. Built on a village-based advisory model that develops extension advisers directly within farming communities, the organisation has a strong technical reputation, long-standing donor partnerships and a close-knit, coaching-led culture.


They are seeking an exceptional Executive Director (ED) to lead this next chapter.

This role requires a strategic thinker with real depth, someone who can grow an organisation during a high-growth phase while staying grounded and people-centred. Success here comes from leading with the team — not from an ivory tower. It suits a leader who values relationships over bureaucracy, who is hands-on, steady, clear, and able to inspire confidence across staff, partners and funders.


Key focus areas:
• Driving long-term strategy and scaling the organisation towards 2030 goals
• Strengthening systems, governance, operations and multi-country management
• Deepening and diversifying funding and partnerships
• Protecting and building a non-hierarchical, coaching-led culture
• Guiding senior leaders and building internal succession
• Ensuring strong compliance, financial health and operational excellence


We are looking for:
• A senior leader (8+ years at executive level) with strong understanding of agricultural development and/or agribusiness
• Experience growing an organisation or division during a scale-up phase
• Someone warm, confident and people-driven, with natural emotional intelligence
• A relationship-builder who thrives in community-based, trust-driven cultures
• Comfortable representing the organisation regionally and internationally
• Strong financial oversight and operational management skills
