The Lodge Host & Front of House Manager will be responsible for curating warm, family-style experiences for guests while managing front-of-house operations and coordinating guest logistics. This live-in role is ideal for a personable and intuitive hospitality professional who thrives in nature, loves storytelling, and enjoys connecting deeply with guests.

Key Responsibilities

Family-Style Guest Hosting
  • Welcome and connect personally with guests, making them feel at home
  • Host meals, sundowners, and lodge activities with warmth and professionalism
  • Intuitively read guest needs and tailor their experience
  • Facilitate flexible, family-friendly stays with engaging activities for children
Ongoing Client Relationships
  • Curate stories, images, and video from lodge life to feed social media and digital communications
  • Manage the guest CRM, maintaining accurate preferences and histories
  • Write and distribute blog posts, newsletters, and email updates
  • Contribute to marketing strategy and content ideas that reflect Lewa House’s values

Front of House Oversight

  • Oversee room preparation, housekeeping coordination, and public space upkeep
  • Ensure smooth daily logistics including safari schedules and guest activities
  • Maintain daily communication with operational teams to ensure excellence in execution
Daily Operations
  • Manage check-ins/check-outs and liaise with reservations and guest logistics
  • Coordinate arrivals/departures with airlines and ground teams
  • Maintain internal communications through lodge boards and HOD check-ins
  • Liaise with the conservancy and external providers for activity planning


Qualifications & Attributes

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar boutique lodge or family-run retreat
  • Passionate about conservation, sustainability, and East African culture
  • Naturally hospitable, conversational, and intuitive with guests
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable with dynamic, off-grid living
  • Proficient in Office 365, email systems, and lodge management tools (ResRequest, Essential, etc.)
  • Fluent in English; Swahili or local language a plus
